This guide will show you how to turn a spreadsheet idea into a live LinkedIn post automatically.

The Workflow Blueprint

We are building this: Google Sheet (Idea) -> ChatGPT (Write Caption) -> Make.com (Scheduler) -> LinkedIn/Facebook (Post)

Step 1: Set Up Your Google Sheet

Create a new sheet with these headers:

  1. Date (When to post)
  2. Topic (e.g., “AI in Marketing”)
  3. Platform (Select: LinkedIn, Twitter)
  4. Status (Draft, Ready, Posted) - Make sure to add a dropdown here.

Step 2: Create the Scenario in Make.com

  1. Trigger Module: Selecting Google Sheets > Watch Rows.
    • Set it to run every morning at 8:00 AM.
    • Filter: Only rows where “Status” = ‘Ready’.
  2. Action Module 1 (AI Writing): detailed prompt to OpenAI (ChatGPT) > Create a Completion.
    • Prompt: “Write a professional LinkedIn post about . Keep it under 200 words. Use 3 hashtags.”
    • Model: GPT-4o-mini (Cheap and sufficient).
  3. Action Module 2 (Posting): Connect LinkedIn > Create a Text Post.
    • Map the output from OpenAI to the Content field.
  4. Action Module 3 (Update Sheet): Connect Google Sheets > Update a Row.
    • Change “Status” to ‘Posted’. This prevents duplicates.

Step 3: Test It

  1. Add a row to your sheet: “Topic: Why consistent posting matters.” Set Status to “Ready.”
  2. Click “Run Once” in Make.com.
  3. Check your LinkedIn. Magic.

Advanced: Adding Images

Make.com can also grab images.

  • Add an “Image URL” column to your sheet (Upload to Drive/Imgur).
  • Use the LinkedIn > Create an Image Post module instead.
